Mini Bikers School Training
Our Vision is to introduce children to cycling as early as possible.
We guide children through their cycling journey with interactive training sessions, with an emphasis on developing balance skills and strengthening gross and fine motor skills.
Our programme is aimed at children in EYFS and Key Stage One.
We provide;
- All equipment including balance/pedal bikes, helmets and certification
- Balance bike courses indoors and outdoors
- Introduction to bike components
- Road safety awareness and education
Mini Bikers take children on a rewarding cycling journey, one that leads to greater confidance, improved personal development and confidance in riding independently.#LetTheJourneyBegin
Physical development
- Children know the importance of physical exercise for good health
- Children show good control and coordination in large and small movements
Tailored to suit very young children from 18 months to 4 years, using balance bikes and equipment. This course encourages participation in an early riding experience via balance games and fun interactive activities.
Personal, social and emotional development
- Children are confident to try new activities and say why they like some activities more than others
This assists children to develop fine and gross motor skills and to develop skills and confidence in using a variety of balance equipment and balance bikes.
KS1PE
- Develop balance, agility and coordination
Builds confidence and skill in the ability to glide on a balance bike. Focuses on how to stop using a brake, in a controlled manner and maneuver safely around objects, gaining confidence within challenging circuits.
PSHECore theme 1: health and wellbeing
- What constitutes, and how to maintain, a healthy lifestyle, including the benefits of physical activity
- To think about themselves, to learn from their experiences, to recognise and celebrate their strengths, and set simple but challenging goals
Children are equipped to ride a balance bike to and from school.On completion children are ready for the transition to progress to the Minibikers pedal bike course.
KS2 PE
- Develop flexibility, strength, technique and control
Children learn how to ride a pedal bike confidently and independently without the use of stabilisers. It focuses on how to stop using both brakes, in a controlled manner and manoeuvre safely around objects, gaining confidence within challenging circuits.
PSHECore theme 1: health and wellbeing
- What positively and negatively affects their physical, mental and emotional health
- To identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and set high aspirations and goals
Children gain a useful life skill that not only improves their physical wellbeing but also their mental wellbeing. Children are equipped to ride a bike to and from school and in their recreational/family time.
